Junior Rock Adventure Camp
Junior Rock Adventure camp for children entering grades K-1 in September. Junior Rock Adventure is a camp that provides an all-inclusive high quality day camp experience in the convenience of a local Glen Rock setting with an emphasis on fun. Designed for children entering grades K-1, the daily “routine” is anything but! A wide variety of games, sports, arts and crafts and more keep the campers busy throughout the day and the summer. Campers are bused to the Glen Rock Pool for water play 2 days a week, weather permitting. In addition, there are 2 special weekly field trips to zoos, bowling and many other great places for summer. Tuesdays are field days. Each camper receives a camp T-shirt. The camp coordinator is supported by high school and college student counselors in a low/counselor ratio. The staff members are CPR certified. All costs, including trips, admissions, transportation, and on-site activities are included in our fee. Each week has a different theme.
We offer 7, one week sessions with the exception to July 4th week.
First week of camp is July 1-3, NO camp on July 4th and July 5th.

Playcamp
Campers will participate in thematic activities each week including daily read alouds, crafts, playground time, water play, and sing-along songs. They will love the familiar daily routine including choices of inside and outside play. Play Camp leadership is a certified teacher in Elementary Education assisted by experienced counselors. Play camp is for ages 3 and 4 years old (child must be 3 years old by Oct 1, 2024). Children must be toilet trained.
We offer 5, one week sessions with the exception to July 4th week.

Kindergarten Readiness Camp
Students who will be entering Kindergarten in the fall will benefit from this camp built around kindergarten readiness. One of the community school's Pre-K teachers will be leading this camp. This camp will provide students with learning opportunities that go beyond the Pre-K curriculum. This camp will promote social, emotional and academic growth for students before they enter elementary school this fall. Students will take part in hands-on math activities, literature-based art activities, emergent literacy lessons, science experiments and more. There will be ample time and opportunities for socialization with peers. Ocean Theme.

Author Writing Camp
Students will be inspired by their favorite authors and illustrators and work collaboratively with their classmates to develop their own independent writing projects. They will have a choice of a variety of genres and have the opportunity to take their work through the writing process. The Great Clay Adventure Camp: Grades 4-5
Students will create functional and artistic handbuilding projects using ceraic and glazes. Some examples are: a Pueblo coil pot, animal pinch pots, clay wall pockets, jewelry. Students will expand their imaginations and artistic minds by exploring the exciting world of clay as an art form. This class is taught by Kim Menke who teaches art at Hamilton School. Join us for a fun week of creating, learning, and experimenting with a variety of materials and art techniques including work with drawing, fibers, printmaking, and sculpture. Summer Art Sampler: Grades 2-3 Join us for a fun week of creating and experimenting with various art techniques and materials. SPORTS CAMPS
GRCS GRLL Baseball Camp: Grades 3-8
Under the direction of Coach Steve Spitaleri. Grades 3-8: Campers will focus on the basics of baseball as well, however, for the older kids, there will be more of an emphasis on position specific training techniques and the importance of being an unselfish team player. Campers will also be presented with the opportunity to learn these skills of the game from the Glen Rock High School coaching staff, current and former players. Campers are expected to wear a baseball hat and their cleats everyday. Campers should also bring their glove, bat, helmet, sunscreen, water or Gatorade, sneakers just in case and anything else they may need to participate. Please also pack a nut free lunch and snack. Campers will receive a T-shirt!

Rock Sports Camp
Under the direction of Jim Kurz, head football coach for Glen Rock High School and veteran camp director, Rock Sports Camp introduces young players to a variety of sports including football, soccer, basketball, hockey, volleyball and lacrosse. Games include dodgeball, kickball, Steal-the-Bacon, Soldiers and Medics, Dungeon, and more. Each week is not a duplicate of the other weeks. The staff – primarily experienced physical education teachers, coaches and current and former Glen Rock star athletes – provides a balance of cooperative activities and individual skill development. Campers enjoy a caring, supportive and fun environment where each child receives recognition for his/her contributions. Registration is limited; early enrollment is encouraged.

Rock Softball Camp: Grades 3-9
Coach Kelly Dowell along with GRHS softball coaches and varsity softball players, brings many years of teaching skill development and fundamentals. The camp includes games, cooperative activities, fielding and hitting drills and a camper favorite...SLIP 'n SLIDE! Campers should come prepared to play hard, learn a lot and have fun! Equipment needed includes: sneakers or cleats, mitt, batting gloves and bat (optional), batting helmet, snack, water bottle and sunblock.

Join Varsity Tennis coach Bonnie Zimmermann and some talented players to learn and practice your tennis skills. The camp is directed by Stacie Gallo, Track and Field coach. This program incorporates age appropriate activities including warm ups/ cool downs, yoga and stretching, training for races, relay events, and field events including throwing, jumping and hurdling led by high school coaches and athletes that will use their experience and knowledge to educate campers. Current 55 hurdles state champion attended the Track and Field camp. Campers must bring sneakers, water, sunblock, and a snack. Call the GRCS office for a sibling discount for individual week. Dance & Yoga Camp: Grades 3-5
Dance and Yoga camp with Julie Finkel. Each day campers will have classes in a variety of dance styles such as Hip Hop, Broadway Jazz and Improv. Dancers will learn the coolest moves and grooves as we prepare for an end of camp showcase where parents and friends will be invited to watch our performance. The day will conclude with a themed yoga class that will incorporate breathing techniques, yoga postures, partner yoga, games and meditation. An art project or journaling activity will be incorporated into each yoga session. This unique program encourages creativity and helps each child gain confidence in a dun and nurturing environment. Wiggles & Giggle Dance/Tumble Camp: Ages 3-5 yrs In these fun and exciting classes, students will work on movement combinations that will challenge their minds and bodies and will explore a wide variety of skills including dance, gymnastics, balance beam, rhythmic play, creative expression, and the toys and props! Instructors will work with the students to enhance their strength, flexibility, coordination, muscle control and self-expression through dance, gymnastics, music and rhythm. This program is designed with the children in mind and places as much emphasis on bolstering confidence and self-esteem as it does on improving gross motor skills. Daily themes like Circus Fun, A day at Zoo, Dino Dance, Beach fun, etc.

Sewing Camp
Sewing camp will have campers learning to sew and for those who know how to sew, they will be expanding their craft. Vivian Burns teaches classes in Glen Rock and surrounding communities. Campers will learn how to use a real sewing machine and create fabulous and fun projects starting with patch pillows, tote bags, etc. and over the course of just one week develop skills to create simple dresses, etc.. This camp will give campers the confidence to sew on a real sewing machine as well as understand and perform basic construction techniques. Machines and fabric are provided. For half day, bring a nut free snack and water. For full day, bring a nut free snack, lunch and water.

The camp is led by the direction of Glen Rock certified teacher, Heather McDermott and certified teachers. Join us for an action packed morning of STEM exploration through hands-on investigations, coding, challenges, problem solving and collaborative learning. Math Enrichment Camp: Grades 6-7
This course introduces students to middle school math (Pre-Algebra) and helps to provide a smooth transition. This is a good way to get a math "tune-up" for September's challenges! Topics include word problems, ratios, decimals, scale drawings, measuring circles, angles, triangles and prisms...these are just a few topics that will be covered. All sessions taught in small group classes by Kaitlyn Schamber who teaches Math in the middle school.

Summer Chess Camp: Grades 1-5
Join us for a fun and exciting week at the Summer Chess Camp! There's lots of cool activities planned the campers will love.
Daily Schedule:
- Learning Time: Every day, we'll have two 40-minute lessons where you can learn new and interesting things. Our teachers make learning fun and easy!
- Snack Break: We'll take a 10-minute break for you to relax and enjoy a snack.
- Chess and Mind Games: For 40 minutes each day, we'll play chess and other fun games that help you think and solve puzzles. Don’t worry if you’re new to chess—we’ll help you learn!
- Sports and Games: We’ll have two 25-minute sports activities every day. We might play in the gym or outside if the weather is nice. There will be lots of fun games to keep you active and moving!

Woodworking Camp
Come join us this summer and have fun learning the basics of woodworking. Every day campers will start off by learning woodworking safety. They will also learn about the tools that are used and how the projects of the day are put together. Campers will be doing light sanding with sandpaper, gluing and painting to make fun and exciting projects to bring home each day. Some projects will include a birdhouse, wooden games, animal figures, and much more. All supplies are included. Campers may bring a nut free snack and a drink.
